Engineering Lead
Scope
Bridge Construction · Setting Out · Rebar Checks · Utilities · Earthworks · Machine Control

The Eastern Green scheme comprised approximately 3km of new roads, three roundabouts, new A45 slip roads, drainage and utility networks, major earthworks and a new overbridge. Dan led the engineering function through construction, taking responsibility for the technical delivery of the works.

Bridge setting out and reinforcement control

All setting out for the bridge structure was carried out by Dan, alongside reinforcement checks throughout construction to verify the works against the structural design before concrete pours. This provided continuous engineering control over the geometry and build quality of the bridge, from foundations through to the completed structure.

Coordinating a complex infrastructure scheme

Beyond the bridge itself, the project required coordination of multiple utility providers, drainage and highway interfaces. A combined 3D utility model was developed to identify clashes and spatial constraints, allowing services to be realigned and installed within shared trenches more efficiently.

Digital engineering for major earthworks

Approximately 200,000m³ of cut and fill was managed using GNSS machine control and digital terrain models. Road and footpath formation models were prepared for machine-controlled excavators and dozers, helping the earthworks team deliver formation efficiently across the scheme.

Delivered under our former company name, D.S.W Civil Engineering Ltd.
